My mom at my largest pond.

This
is what the hole looked like when I finished digging. Click for a
larger version. As you can see, the design is more organic than the Begoon
pond.

Here's
the pond after the liner was installed and it was filled with water. I
hadn't put any rocks around the edge yet because I didn't have a way of
transporting rocks from the creek bed where I get rocks.

|
This
is what the pond looked like after 3 years of maintenance. The grass had
grown around the edge by this time and the pond looks almost complete. The
only thing that hasn't finished growing is the creeping Juniper on the
"mountain" behind the pond.

|
You
can see the junipers more clearly in this picture. They should cover the
"mountain" in a few years. I will not consider this pond to be
complete until that happens.

This
is an aerial view of the pond. I wanted to know what the pond looked like from
above, so one day I climbed up in a tree and took a picture. This photo has
been edited with Photoshop. In reality there is less grass around the
pond, but this is the amount of grass I plan to have in the future.

After
you feed fishes long enough, they get used to people and they become
"friendly." If you stick your finger in the water they will come
up to your finger and start nibbling.
